Day 4 - Rumbi's story

Already somewhere in the middle of the training course we are interested to hear the story of Rumbi who comes from the  organisation African Youth Arise (AYA) from the United Kingdom. With her we had small interview, asking her about the learning points from the day 4 of YOUTHIFICATION training. The methodology used during this day was focusing more on creative expression and building 3D structures which should visualize better the youth structures the participants are working in. Questions like: where are the young people in your community? How much do they participate in the decision making processes? How to increase their participation? Read here below what Rumbi said to us: "At the morning session I was thinking more thoroughly about our space that we use for our activities, is it appropriate and suitable for the young people we are working with. I think probably is not, it doesn’t have enough facilities to enable us to work with young people on another level and to enc

Day 3: New discoveries of youth worker competences

The Georgian participants Ekuna and Tamo from the youth association DRONI are sharing their impression about the day 3 of the training course. Today we were focusing only on the youth worker competences and we explored each element separately. Here is the small interview that we did with them together at the end of the day. Ekuna: “Today it was the best day so far and I will explain why: I really like the balance of activities which are focusing on emotions and activities focusing on practical knowledge. At the same time, I like the balance of individual and group work. Highlight of the day would be the exercise “Taking Step forward”, especially the discussion afterwards and how that all was linked with the challenges and the needs that we wrote yesterday. On this way we could actually feel and see the gaps where we are and where we want to be. From the group I heard very meaningful comments today. The group has a ig potential, slowly they are opening up and I feel that the

Day 2: Diving deep below the surface of youth work

The second day of the training course has arrived together with the new snow. This was one more reason, the participants to get even more inspired and start the morning session with lots of enthusiasm. It was the time to be creative in presenting the organisations where the participants are coming from. Many new opportunities came out from this session and already new potential cooperation has been discussed among the different organisations. Eager to learn more about each other, all of them dived into the next session of exploring the needs and challenges that they are facing during their every-day work as youth workers. Kirsty from UK liked very much the discussion about these challenges, because she could see different approaches from different organisations dealing with same challenges. Many of the representatives from different European countries were focusing a lot on international cooperation when doing the activities and her work consists mostly of local projects and

The sessions have finally started! The participants are eager to see what follows in the next 7 days and the trainers are excited to share with them a very valuable piece of knowledge and experience. On this blog we are going to follow the development and the learning process of the participants by asking them to share with the world what was the most important thing which they learned and experienced. Day by day, we will introduce you with different participants. To start, for the first day we have the youngest participant - Mića Mišljenović who is coming from Serbia. We asked him to describe from his own perspective the first day. This is what he said: “When I woke up this morning, I was already fresh and ready to start the new day here in Leysin. First activity that we had today was “Walk & Talk”. We went outside for a nice walk in the nature. On the beginning we would chose some questions written on a piece of paper and while we walk we would find one partner and wo
